City of South Perth

Zero stars would have been more accurate if there was such an option.Phone calls, personal visit, multiple letters and no human reply in 5 months and even when one elects to go to court they cant even get that organised…Would love to see a council whom operate with honesty, focus and high standards of customer service!

Made a telephone call today around 230pm 14th July 2022 and spoke to a miserable lady named Katrina".Someone needs to ask her "R U Ok" because I sensed she has a mental health issue of some kind.All the best Katrina."

Just received an $80 fine for overstaying my parking at Angelo St shopping precinct by 7 minutes. Seriously South Perth? Safer to shop in Victoria Park. I wont be spending my money in South Perth anymore.

Once something becomes too difficult for them they just stop replying to emails and not make an effort in any way to assist. If you’re going to fine me for parking in an area but then not address the lack of parking there (and palm it off as a council issue), how is that really helping a resident of your city?

Sorry to have to give a low score, but I normally like to write nice comments. I met a friend in South Perth near the jetty. I am not a local and very in experienced with this level of parking fees. After a short while I realized it was paid parking a rushed back to buy a ticket, only to discover some zealous ranger had given me an $80 infringement. Excuse me, but that's more than parking for the whole day! It has definitely put me off ever visiting this city again. And it will be a story I won't be shy to share. I feel sad that it's come to this. Even appealing was not worth the trouble because apparently my story isn't good enough. There are plenty of nicer places to visit.

If you want an example of incompetent government/semi-government agencies this is a good good model.We moved into the area and despite informing change of address innumerable times we get rates notices continually sent to the previous address. Each redirected notice has different information on it so we don't what should be paid.We should have been alerted to incompetence when we were in the building process -when phony 'aesthetics' cost us thousands of dollars and the builder was asked to prepare documents they already had on file.Avoid building in South Perth if you can.

Got fined for parking at Richardson Park when the sign was clearly obstructed and not visible. I have tried contacting the council and received no assistance. Legally signs cannot be obstructed.

I pay yearly council rates for my properties and when I request a copy they then wanted to charge me to send them via EMAIL.... just keep your hand out South Perth Council, don't worry about actually helping people.

While its true that I did overstay the parking in Angelo St, (by no more than 2 minutes) there is no compassion at the city of south perth. I explained my situation and what happened, (no need to air it all here) requesting they waive it but they stayed adamant to the letter of arbitrary rule, claiming that all councils do the same. (an attempt to shirk responsibility or show leadership) Like others I wont be spending my money in south perth anymore. I moved.Poor Show south perth.

There is roadside space that looks like parking bays on Melville Parade because there are still old bay marks on the road surface. We parked our car in one of those 'bays' as there was a 4hr parking" sign nearby
